My Host family
Hallo my
dears <3
Today I would like to tell you something about my host family and how I got them.
A proverb says that “you always get your host family, when you expect it the least” and the same was true for me.
It was a normal Wednesday afternoon, the 20th June, I was just sitting in the bus to drive home from school and I was extremely bored, so I checked my emails. Then I saw that YFU had sent me an email to let me know that I had received a new message in the YFU app in the Host Family section. At first I thought it was another email saying that I still had to wait until I would get a host family.
However, when I opened the app, I had tears in my eyes and I saw that there was actually a name in the app....
Now to my
host family:
I live in the middle of Latvia in a small town on the Daugava River (the largest river in Latvia), about six minutes from the shore.
Furthermore, I have a host mother and a host father, both in their mid-30s and in the military. I also have a 13 years old host brother and a cat.
We also have similar hobbies such as traveling, going to concerts, ...
So perfect conditions for a good year abroad!
Best wishes,
Lilli
