My Preparation Camp

Hello my dears <3

Today I want to tell you something about the preparation camp, that ended a week ago. Usually preparation camps exist to prepare exchange students for their year abroad. Our camp in Latvia lasted 3 and a half days from Wednesday till Saturday and was located at the country side of Latvia around 45 minutes from Riga away. We (circa 21 exchange students) lived in a log cabin with three teamers.

In those days they taught us something about Latvian culture, mentality, the language and so much more… which caused, that in the end we really felt as we were "prepared" for our year abroad.
And as always – there were a lot of usefull energizers! So all in all the three days were pretty funny but also interesting and informative.

Then on Saturday we got our black YFU Latvia Shirts and went with a bus to Riga to the Islande Hotel, where our hostfamilies had a preparation before. When we arrived at the hotel, we had to go to the meeting hall one by one. In the beginning I was super scarred and nearly crying, but after I went on stage, introduced myself (in LATVIAN!), finally met my hostfamily and hugged them, everything turned out fine.

So in the end I can say: don´t worry to much – most of the time it´s useless!
That´s it for today, I hope it was at least a bit interesting.

See you soon,

Lilli
