Saying good bye and flying to Riga
Hello my dears <3
Today I will tell you something about two things the most people are scared about and about my personal experience with saying good bye to your family and flying to another country.
Today I will tell you something about two things the most people are scared about and about my personal experience with saying good bye to your family and flying to another country.
So on the 28th of August my dream of doing an exchange year finally came true. Because of this reason I also had to wake up at 04:15 o´clock. Which caused two problems: first of all I am not a morning person and secondly: I only got two hours of sleep.
But in the end we started driving to Frankfurt to get to the Airport around 05:30 o´clock which took us around three hours because of so many traffic jams.
After we arrived at the Airport and we checked my baggage in, it was time to say good bye to my parents and my siblings. And surprisingly that wasn´t to hard or emotional. We just hugged each other and said something like "see you in one year". Then I went to through the security check and to the gate where I finally met all the other host students. And then our journey started...
So after the flight we took our suitcases and met two YFU volunteers in the entry hall of the latvian Airport in Riga. Which is, by the way, extremely small and remembers me of the one in Erfurt. Then we had to wait for another hour until the girl from Italy arrived. While this waiting time we got to know each other and played some energizers such as "Quietschi Hunt" or "Pink Little Pony". Before we went with two buses to the countryside, where our preparation meeting took place...
That´s it for today and I hope you had fun while reading my entry, my next post will be about the preparation meeting in general!
LOVE,
Lilli
